Ronaldo awaits with revenge in the air

One of the images from this year's Champions League will be Cristiano Ronaldo crying at Estadio Mestalla after receiving a red card in his first European game for Juventus for an incident with Jeison Murillo off the ball.

It was the assistant referee who told his colleague that the Portuguese deserved a straight red which came as a huge surprise to Ronaldo, who sought solace from Marcelino as he walked back the dressing room.

"I didn't do anything!" you could see the Juventus No. 7 say.

The Old Lady ultimately appealed the red card and it was reduced to one game.

In the last matchday, the 33-year-old scored against Manchester United, his former side, but the Italians collapsed and lost 2-1, conceding twice in the final five minutes.

Ronaldo has found his feet in Serie A, too, as he now has nine goals and five assists in 13 games after finding the net against SPAL at the weekend.

It is still remarkable how the former Real Madrid man continues to excel in the Champions League, with a goals total of 121 in 156 games, and in this regard, the next closest Juventus player is Mario Mandzukic with 20 goals in 55 appearances.

This year, however, the top scorer for the Bianconeri in Europe is Paulo Dybala with four goals, albeit three came in one game against Young Boys, and he continued his prolific form over the international break as he scored his first goal for Argentina.

With Valencia  travelling to Turin, Ronaldo will want to make amends for his sending off in the first game and punish the Spaniards, who happen to be one of his favourite victims as he has 15 goals in 19 games (16 in LaLiga Santander and two in the Copa del Rey for Real Madrid, plus one in this year's Champions League for Juventus).
