In yet another difficult LaLiga Santander match, Rubi's Real Betis struggled to find their best form as visiting Eibar held the hosts to a 1-1 draw that will have done little to enthuse supporters on Friday evening.
After the blistering entertainment on offer at either end during the Quique Setien era, fans have been forced to adjust to a more pragmatic style this term, as Eibar stifled the attacking moves of the Seville club.
Fabian Orellana's first half penalty put the visitors in front after just 34 minutes and it looked like it would be yet another evening of disappointing for Betis, yet Loren's 66th minute equaliser did just enough for his side to earn a point.
There was a flashpoint in injury time when Eibar's Gonzalo Escalante was shown a red card for his second caution of the match, but it mattered little to proceedings by that point.
It's a result which keeps Real Betis on the outside looking in at European qualification places, sitting in 12 place with just nine points from their opening eight matches, and there is work to do before they are as attractive a force as the team Setien put together last year.
