Ajax and Sevilla have both confirmed a deal that will see Austrian defender Maximilian Wöber depart Amsterdam for Spain.

Ajax will receive a fee of €10.5 million from the La Liga side but that could rise to €11 million through bonuses.

Ajax signed the defender from Rapid Vienna back in 2017 for a fee of €7.5 million and he has since made 39 official appearances for the club.

However, Wöber has never been first choice in Amsterdam and with the arrival of Lisandro Magallan he has been pushed further down the pecking order.

On Friday, the Austrian was given permission to leave Ajax’s training camp in order to negotiate with Sevilla and pending the last few details the deal will be completed shortly.
