Simeone asks Atletico to remain calm as Barca & Real Madrid chasing them

Atletico Madrid Head Coach Diego Simeone says his side are being chased by 'two monsters', as Real Madrid and Barcelona gain ground after the side's disappointing goalless draw against Getafe.

Atleti enjoyed 73% of the possession against Getafe and their opponents were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute, but Simeone's men failed to find the back of the net.

It means they've won just three of their of their past eight matches - this after winning 15 of their 16 matches before that.

With 11 matches left in the campaign the side are starting to look over their shoulders, with Real Madrid six points behind after an impressive run that has seen them win five in seven.

And Barcelona can close that gap to four points with a win against Huesca tomorrow following a 16-match unbeaten run.

Barca face Atleti in their 35th game of the season, which could prove decisive if Ronald Koeman's side continue their streak.

Simeone is wary of the task that faces them if they want to win their first La Liga title for seven years, and wants his side to be 'calmer'.

'I leave here knowing the team is playing well. We have to be calmer,' Simeone told reporters after the Getafe draw. 'We know that Real Madrid and Barcelona aren't going to lose until the end of the season.

'The nerves aren't going away and we just have to get on with it.'

'People were saying Barcelona were bad and look what they did in Paris. They have a new president and excitement is growing.

'Real Madrid always take points from their games. We have our job at hand as we continue down our path. We have two monsters below us that want to be where we are.'
