On May 18, the Spanish Football Federation officially announced that Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente will unveil the 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup on May 25, local time. This World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Reportedly, the squad announcement will take place at 12:30 PM local time at "Movistar Space" in the Telefónica Building, Grand Via 28, Madrid. Fans can follow the event in real-time via the Spanish national team's official social media accounts.
In addition to the official 26-man World Cup squad, De la Fuente will also announce a list of training players. These players will train with the national team until the warm-up match against the Iraq national football team on June 4.
Subsequently, the Spain national football team will travel to Puebla on June 8 to play their final pre-World Cup warm-up match against the Peru national football team at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc.
According to the schedule, Spain will play their first World Cup match on June 15 against the Cape Verde national football team in Atlanta.
Furthermore, the Spanish team will officially begin their World Cup training camp on May 30 at Las Rozas de Fútbol City, with all national team players required to report by 5 PM that day.
