Spanish press go mad for Barcelona’s dramatic comeback

The Spanish press were nearly lost for words on Wednesday morning as they tried to put into words the action from Barcelona's great escape against Villarreal.

Having surrendered a 2-0 advantage, the league leaders incredibly found themselves 4-2 down with 10 minutes remaining.

Lionel Messi had started on the bench but had looked as dumfounded as the rest of the squad after coming on with the scores level at 2-2.

He did produce a key moment, pulling back one to make it 4-3, before Luis Suarez produced the unthinkable to seal a point.

There were few words that can accurately describe the happenings at El Madrigal on Tuesday evening, and so it was to be expected that similar headlines appeared across Spain's biggest sports papers.

Marca, missing a celebratory picture on the front due to the late nature of the goal, wrote 'Football is Incredible' across the page, while Sport put it in even simpler terms. 'Incredible' was the reaction on their front page.

Mundo Deportvo though put the goal in context of the La Liga race.

'Goal for La Liga' they proclaimed, explaining that Suarez's strike had won 'a vital point before Atleti game'.

They went further, describing it as a  'crazy game'. You can't say they were wrong.
