According to Sport, Jonathan David, who joined Atletico Madrid on loan from Juventus this summer, has already impressed the Rojiblancos enough to pursue a permanent deal just two months into his spell.
Atletico Madrid's issues with Julian Alvarez and Sorloth's injury appear to have accelerated David's integration into the team. His early-season performances have been outstanding.
Simeone said in a press conference: "He has made a huge impact on the team, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in 4 games. He brings something we lacked before: a striker who naturally drifts to the right wing and also makes significant defensive contributions." The manager also noted that David represents a type of player the squad previously needed.
Atletico Madrid is considering signing the Canadian forward permanently and has already allocated funds for the transfer in next season's budget. The buyout clause stands at €25 million. If David maintains his current form, the price could prove to be a bargain.
