The report indicates that Barcelona had been monitoring Kane's situation for some time. Although they never made a formal offer, Barcelona did want to ascertain whether the England captain would consider a move if they pursued him further. However, the information Barcelona received dampened their interest. Kane is happy at Bayern and does not want to leave.
However, the Sport report also notes that Kane has not yet extended his contract with Bayern. His contract expires in 2027, and the two sides have not yet agreed on the extension length: Kane hopes to secure his future until 2030, while Bayern wants to extend for only two more years. He is currently focused on the World Cup, and negotiations are expected to accelerate after the tournament concludes.
If the two sides cannot reach an agreement, Kane's future could take a new direction. Kane joined Bayern in 2023 for nearly 100 million euros, earning approximately 25 million euros annually.
