Suso has left a farewell message after moving to Sevilla and has claimed he “always loved” Milan and “gave everything for their colours”.

After five years in the fashion capital, Suso has moved back to Spain and will embark on a new challenge with Sevilla.

He said he was “confused” after a “complicated night” but declared his love for Milan, “both the city and the club”.

“It was a very complicated night, it was my last in Milan,” he said in a video on Instagram. “I am a bit confused. I’ve never been much of a talker, but I have always loved Milan, both the city and the club.

“I have always given everything for the Milan colours. I leave on my toes, just as I did when I arrived years ago. I have never made any proclamations and promises, I never exaggerated. I have only tried to defend the Milan shirt.

“Sometimes I managed to, sometimes I didn’t. But I have always done everything with honesty, with affection, with commitment. I became a man with you.”

Suso arrived from Liverpool in January 2015 and struggled to get going at San Siro. After a short spell on loan at Genoa, he came back and established himself in the starting XI.

But this term he has received a lot of criticism and lost his place in the team under Stefano Pioli and he admitted he will miss the Milan jersey.

“I was called up to the national team thanks to you. I became a father off the pitch, and I will miss the walks in the Duomo. I will miss Milan, the people who work there, I will miss my teammates, my friends, the coaches, the fans.

“But one thing I will miss above all the other: the Rossoneri shirt, which is stunning. I have always respected it, always loved it, I have always demanded the most from myself and I leave without any regrets. I have my head held high. My task here is finished, now it’s not my turn anymore. But I will never forget it.

“I arrived at a Milan in difficulty and I always game my availability to defend this club on the pitch. We have gone through some particular years, different owners, numerous coaches and now I’m here.

“You have no idea what I’m feeling right now, I haven’t been and I won’t be good at showing my emotions. But believe me, I’ll miss you. Thanks Milan, I will always be your fan. With affection, Suso.”
