Tchouameni: Valverde and I never fought, our relationship is very good now

In an interview, Tchouameni firmly stated that he did not physically fight with Valverde, emphasizing that their relationship is now very good.

Last season, Real Madrid was reportedly affected by an incident between Tchouameni and Valverde. It was rumored that an argument occurred between the Frenchman and the Uruguayan, which ultimately led to the club imposing financial penalties on both. Florentino Pérez said during last summer's campaign that what happened between the two players was normal in the dressing room and happens every year. What was abnormal was that it was leaked to the public.

Now, Tchouameni openly admitted in an interview: "Many people are talking, but there was no fight between Valverde and me. Yes, things do happen in the dressing room, but we never fought. There are tensions and such in the dressing room, but I never physically fought with Valverde. Some unpleasant things did happen. The only problem is that this is Real Madrid, and any small incident will be infinitely exaggerated and turned into an extremely dramatic media event. What wasn't necessarily a problem ends up becoming one."

The Frenchman also stated that such incidents are normal in sports: "Afterwards, everyone called me, wanting to know what happened and if I was okay. They wanted to know the details, but now you have to be very careful. To reassure everyone, I could only tell them that everything was fine. I once watched a documentary about the NFL, where these kinds of things happen all the time."

Finally, the Real Madrid midfielder said that this incident actually brought him and Valverde closer: "If you walk into the dressing room today, as Mourinho said, you will see that Valverde and I are fine, and there are no problems between us. There are no problems on the field either; life goes on. In fact, such incidents can even bring you closer to the other person. We are fine, there are no problems."
