LaLiga deeply regrets the comments made by Kylian Mbappé, which have caused displeasure and offense in China. We understand the harm caused and, on behalf of LaLiga, express our sincere apologies to the Chinese people.
Over the years, we have built relationships of respect, trust, and cooperation with China, Chinese authorities, sports organizations, audiovisual operators, and millions of Spanish football fans. We cannot allow individual actions to tarnish this relationship or harm the interests of more than 20 clubs in our professional competition and millions of Chinese fans.
We are taking all possible measures and working directly with our partners and interlocutors in China to overcome this situation. Our commitment to China, the Chinese people, and its institutions is unwavering. Relationships built over many years cannot be damaged by an isolated incident.
