Just like a shooting star, there were no signs that Granada were going to burst onto the scene of this LaLiga Santander season in the manner they have, but after 10 rounds of fixtures they top the table.
A newly promoted side who have spent just 10 million euros on signings, and with their most expensive deals costing 3m euros each, they have the third lowest salary in the top tier at 35.4m euros.
So how have they done it?
Here, Marca look at 10 factors to their success.
1. Diego Martinez
At 39 years of age, the young Granada coach is one of the architects behind their great success and an up-and-comer in this world.
Since arriving he's transformed the side, turning an inconsistent team into a well-oiled machine.
2. The dressing room is a family
In an era of modern football in which players increasingly resemble movie stars, Granada stick to old values and their squad is a tight-knit group.
Each player's own suffering becomes that of the squad.
They eat together and are clear that they are one.
3. Defensive strength
The Andalusian side take no prisoners in their final third and they've managed six clean sheets from just 10 matches already.
This will be vital to their continued success as the season progresses.
4. Rui Silva
The Portuguese goalkeeper is already a revelation this term.
At 25 and standing at 1.91 metres, he's won his side points and is a big reason for their six clean sheets.
He can define an era at the club.
5. The engine room
Granada's midfield has been key in their run.
Angel Montoro was the boss until he fell injured, Yangel Herrera was his best complementary teammate and Maxime Gonalons is now putting in the work.
6. A team, no matter who plays
The team comes first and Granada aren't a collection of individuals.
Injuries haven't changed a thing, as the replacements slot in and things keep ticking along.
7. In-game adaptation
Whatever they've come up against, they've been able to resist.
Whether it's against the lesser teams, like they themselves should be, or against Barcelona, they can come through unscathed.
8. A mix of old and young
The squad is nicely balanced and composed of youth and experience.
Even German Sanchez, 32, is debuting in the top tier, while Gonalons, Montoro and others are above 30 as well.
Youngsters like 21-year-old Yangel Herrera and 24-year-old Domingos Duarte are shining.
9. The Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes
Granada are a force at home.
They've already strung together four consecutive wins there and the fans are feeling valued.
10. The boardroom project
With a well-defined road map, the management know what they're doing and how they're doing it.
They want to keep incorporating youth with experience for a long stay in LaLiga Santander.
