Kylian Mbappe is the most highly-valued French player in world football, but what other France players feature in the top 10?
FootballTransfers' transfer valuations are calculated in collaboration with SciSports, a world-leading football analytics agency that assesses the relative transfer valuations of over 60,000 professional footballers worldwide. SciSports use multiple data points including current and potential ability, contract length, form, age, and other crucial factors.
Even at 22 years old, Mbappe is already one of the best and most devastating forwards in world football.
At the moment, he is plying his trade in France with Paris Saint-Germain and is the second most expensive player of all time following his €145m transfer from Monaco which was made permanent in 2018.
FOOTBALLTRANSFERS' MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD
He currently has a FootballTransfers market value of €154m which makes him by far the most valuable Frenchman. And, rest assured, that value would be even higher if not for the fact he is out of contract with PSG in June.
The second most valuable Frenchman is Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano, who completed a big-money move to the Bavarian giants from RB Leipzig in the summer. He is valued at €65m.
Manchester United new boy Raphael Varane is in third, valued at €63m. He completed a transfer to Old Trafford from Real Madrid for a reported fee of around €49m, so the Red Devils got a good deal there.
In fourth is Sevilla's Jules Kounde, who comes in at €59m. The central defender has emerged as one of the most promising young defenders around over the last couple of years, and came close to joining Chelsea in the last transfer window.
The fifth most valuable Frenchman is Moussa Diaby. The Leverkusen winger is enjoying some of the best football of his career currently and has been linked with a big money move away.
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman continues to prove his doubters wrong with his performances, which initially kept star signing Leroy Sane out of the team. He is sixth, valued at €52m.
Antoine Griezmann and Anthony Martial are arguably at a fairly low ebb in their respective careers currently, but they are seventh and eighth on our list, valued at €51 and €50m.
Rounding out the top 10 are Real Madrid wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga (€49m) and Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan (€47m).
