Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes was the top assist provider in Europe last season, but who will follow in his footsteps this time around?
It’s still early days, but here are the players with the most assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season. That’s the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 – and they’re all represented in the top 10 as things stand.
We’re only counting assists in league games. In the case of any ties – and there’s a few in these early days – the player with the fewest minutes ranks higher due to their better ratio.
The Venezuelan played every minute of Toulouse’s opening six league games and has provided an assist in three of them, including two in the 2-2 draw with Lorient.
He has already bettered his assists tally from each of the past three seasons in the French top flight, since his move from New York City back in 2023.

With the likes of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha grabbing the headlines, it’s easy to overlook just how productive Fermin Lopez has become.
The Barcelona midfielder has registered five assists in 10 La Liga appearances, continuing a remarkable run of form stretching back to the start of last season.
He’s registered 43 combined goals and assists in that time. Only Bruno Fernandes (45) has more among midfielders in Europe’s big leagues, and seven of those came from the penalty spot.
Miranda has chipped in with five assists for Bologna in 2026-27, which is more than respectable for a left-back in a mid-table team.
Saying that, his last assist came in a 4-2 win at AC Milan. Not too shabby.
Nope, not the former Manchester United striker. This Hernandez has made his breakthrough in La Liga this season after returning to Espanyol from a loan spell with Mirandes.
The Barcelona-born attacking midfielder hit the ground running with assists in six of his first nine games in the Spanish top flight, including one against Real Madrid.
Nusa was on the radar of a few clubs in the summer and that will probably continue to be the case with his current form for RB Leipzig.
Only a few elite players have more combined goal contributions than the 21-year-old Norwegian winger. No wonder Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs for January.
Where’s Harry Kane on the goalscorers list? The reigning Ballon d’Or and European Golden Shoe holder is nowhere to be seen.
Instead, he’s here. The England captain has registered six assists to just four goals in eight Bundesliga appearances, already bettering his assist tally from the whole of last season.
