The crossroads for James Rodriguez

  /  autty

James Rodriguez's future at Real Madrid continues to be up in the air.

The Colombian has plenty of time to ponder his next move while in lockdown, one that could see him stay in football's elite or head off to a less reputable league.

Although the transfer market is on standby, there are plenty of rumours about James' next destination.

There is interest from both the Premier League and Serie A, including from clubs such as Napoli, Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal.

However, the latest club to emerge as a candidate to sign him is Inter Miami, David Beckham's MLS franchise.

A Real Madrid exit seems to be on the cards for the midfielder, who could be a major source of income for a club not making any money from ticket sales at the moment.

On top of that, Los Blancos don't want to let James go for free when his contract expires in 2021, leaving them little choice but to cash in on him now.

It's no doubt that James would be a star in MLS but, given the financial instability at the moment, maybe a move to one of Europe's other major leagues would be a better bet.
