Thomas Muller has admitted the 'ease' has waned since the previous campaign for Bayern Munich.
Last season Bayern won the Bundesliga for the eighth season in a row and also won the Champions League, beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final.
Hansi Flick's all-conquering outfit finished 13 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund and only lost four matches all season, scoring 100 and conceding just 32.
But 31-year-old forward Muller conceded the Bavarian side have not found it easy since winning on the domestic and continental fronts in 2019-2020.
He told Kicker: 'The ease from the previous season has faded a little. We couldn't quite take the magic from the summer into the new season.
'In November and December we had many close results with an unusually high number of goals conceded. It takes a lot more to be at the top in the Bundesliga.
'The public and the whole league are thirsting for Bayern to finally be thrown from the throne. You are constantly under observation, there is always a magnifying glass on it.
'Every single player has to show himself and the outside world that he can go this level.'
The World Cup winner also discussed his improvement as a player since ten years ago, describing himself as less error-prone, a more complete footballer and as fit as a gym shoe.
Bayern travel to Hertha Berlin on Friday before embarking on their Club World Cup semi-final the following Monday.
