Jorge D'Alessandro has launched a bizarre rant about Barcelona's new signing Adama Traore despite the loanee grabbing an assists in their 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid on his debut.
The 26-year-old joined the Catalan giants on loan from Premier League side Wolves until the end of the season last week.
The Spanish international started the match and impressed as he tricked his way around Mario Hermoso, before crossing the ball in for Gavi – the smallest player on the pitch – to lift his 5ft 6ins frame high above the Atletico defence to score.
Traore, who made 154 appearances for Wolves and scored 11 goals, impressed on his second debut for Barca according to most.
However, ex-player D'Alessandro, disagreed as he believes the new signing doesn't even have the ability to dribble as he became irate on El Chiringuito.
'I didn't see a superior Barca. Adama Traore, a player with a lot of strength, one on one, it was like a boxing match,' D'Alessandro said.
'Where is the talent? Where is the subtlety of dribbling? Where is the ability to dribble? Going through with just strength… but what kind of football is that? Football is strength? Football is details.
'I don't like that. I see that as a soldier. I haven't seen the Premier League. He's a sub, behind Trincao.
'You can keep Adama Traore.'
Boss Xavi was pleased with his new signing's debut, as he told Marca: 'Adama is a very mature player. He knows when to face up, when to pass and he's chosen his moments well.
'Physically he is an animal, a beast. He is a pure winger and he will help us. He is a great signing for the team.
'Adama makes the difference. He has power, strength, he dribbles at opponents and he's solid in defence.'
Traore graduated through the La Masia academy, and he was keen to return to the Nou Camp and pushed through a move rather than potentially join Tottenham, which could become permanent in the summer.
