UCL last-16 draw: Date, time and how to watch plus who can English sides get?

It's that time of year, and the clubs left in the Champions League will be hoping for an early Christmas present with a favourable last-16 draw.

It has been non-stop action in Europe this season as a result of the condensed 2020-21 campaign. Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have come through the group stage unscathed. However, Manchester United have missed out on the knockout rounds, losing out to PSG and RB Leipzig.

All eyes will be on Nyon as the three remaining Premier League sides learn their fate in Europe's elite competition heading into the new year.

When is it?

The Champions League last-16 draw will take place on Monday 14 December at UEFA's HQ in Nyon, Switzerland.

What time is it?

The draw will begin at 11am (GMT) followed by Europa League draw at 12pm (GMT).

How does the draw work?

The Champions League group winners will be seeded and runners-up unseeded.

The eight seeded and eight unseeded teams are placed in two separate bowls, with one picked from each to determine each of the eight two-legged last-16 ties. Unseeded teams will play the home leg first.

Teams can not face any side from their own nation (i.e. Premier League sides cannot be drawn against another Premier League outfit) and neither can they face a team they competed against in the group stage.
