Dani Parejo is one of the forces that drives Valencia.

Although not immediately obvious, Los Che's captain is one of the fittest players in LaLiga Santander.

LaLiga have recently published statistics of the players who had covered the most distance on the pitch, until the season was suspended, and Parejo, who turned 31 on April 16, was the Valencia player with the highest total distance ran.

The midfielder ran 271.4 kilometres in 2,211 minutes, meaning that he averages out 10.9 kilometres per game.

The players who have covered the most distance this season are as follows: Saul Niguez (Atletico Madrid) with 295.1 kilometres; Sergio Canales (Real Betis) with 289.4km; Jesus Navas (Sevilla) with 286.6km; Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad) with 276.1km; Jose Campana (Levante) with 273.4km; Dani Rodriguez (Real Mallorca) with 271.9km; and then Parejo with 271.1km.

The Valencia captain is always the most physically active player on the pitch, and here are some examples of the distances he has covered in recent games.

Against Mallorca at Mestalla he ran 10.9 kilometres; against Getafe at home, 10.2km; against Alaves at home, 11.2km; against Sevilla at home, 11.6km; and against Atletico away, 11.4km.

Parejo always sets a strong example for his teammates to follow.
