Young Valencia centre-back Hugo Guillamon could join Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer with his contract set to expire and Los Che seemingly uninterested in renewing his current deal.
In what has become a strange situation, Guillamon even made his first-team debut on Saturday in the 3-0 defeat against Real Sociedad due to the defensive problems in Albert Celades' squad.
Guillamon has been a key figure in the youth sides and was the captain of Valencia Mestalla, the club's reserve team, yet no work on a contract extension has been carried out.
Valencia's loss could be someone else's gain and Sport have reported that Barcelona are keen to snap up the 20-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.
Guillamon is not alone in this predicament with several other squad members' contracts set to expire and are now considering moves away from Mestalla.
