Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno is in pole position to sign for Barca (Marca)

Barcelona are searching for a striker to cover for Luis Suarez, who has suffered a long-term injury, and the player who is currently in pole position to move to the Camp Nou is Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno.

Given that Barcelona are looking for a striker who can perform straight away, Rodrigo is considered a good option because there is a belief that he'd adapt well to Quique Setien's style of play.

The problem for Barcelona is that this transfer would be costly, as Valencia don't want to sell for anything less than 60 million euros.

Considering Barcelona already need to bring in 124m euros in transfer sales by the summer, this would cause further financial headaches.

It should also be kept in mind that Barcelona play Valencia this weekend.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was another option, but Arsenal don't want to sell him and that's similar to the situation at RB Leipzig with Timo Werner.

Barcelona are clear that they don't want a repeat of last season's Kevin-Prince Boateng situation in which they signed the player for a six-month loan that didn't really work out.

If they want to permanently sign a striker, though, this will cost money.
