Luis Suarez lived through a new experience with Barcelona on Tuesday night as, when he was taken off, the Camp Nou whistled him after a poor performance.
His reappearance this season saw him do okay, but he didn't score against Borussia Dortmund or Getafe, which had questions starting to be raised.
But Valverde has defended him, as you'd expect.
"Everything has to be put into context," he said.
"Suarez scored two goals [against Valencia] nine days ago, he's been out for a month and has to find fitness as the games progress.
"We know what he gives us and he'll continue to be decisive. He has a history at this club and is one of the top goalscorers in Barcelona's history."
