Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno made his Spain debut in La Roja's 1-1 draw away at Sweden on Tuesday night, which he admits is a dream come true.

"It is a dream that I'd had since a young age," Gerard admitted when discussing his first Spain appearance in his post-match interview.

"Debuting with the senior national team is great, and even more so with qualification.

"The objective has been achieved and now the important thing is to ensure [we finish in] first place."

The Catalan striker has been in great goalscoring form for Villarreal so far this season and, should he keep it up, Gerard fancies his chances of being named in Robert Moreno's squad for the European Championship.

"Obviously I dream of being at the Euros," he noted.

"I'm going to work for it. What we do with our clubs is what brings us here."

Regarding the shirt Gerard wore for his debut, he has stated what he plans to do with it.

"One I'll keep and the other I will give to my family," Gerard added.

"[It will make them] proud and these are memories that will last forever."
