On the evening of November 5, Ronaldo announced his retirement from the national team. Many football stars left messages paying tribute to him, including Real Madrid's current No. 7, Vinicius.
Vinicius commented on Ronaldo's social media post: "Pra sempre o número 1!!!!!!" (Forever number one!)
Vinicius joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, after Ronaldo had left, so the two never played together. Vinicius took over Real Madrid's No. 7 shirt for the 2023/24 season.
