Speaking to Paris Saint-Germain’s official website, Warren Zaïre-Emery (16) expresses his pride in representing his home region at the highest level of football, after regularly starting for Les Parisiens in Ligue 1 and experiencing a Champions League last 16 clash at the Parc des Princes against Bayern Munich.
Zaïre-Emery, who hails from the Parisian region, says “For me, it’s a privilege to wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt. It’s a joy to represent the Paris region in the club’s professional squad.”
The 16-year old, who will turn 17 in March, also spoke about his time in the academy of PSG, “I remember many of the tournaments we played in, in France and abroad. I think the best one was the U11 international tournament in Ajaccio, Corsica. I was playing in the U9s at the time, but I was upgraded to the U11s. We went all the way to the final of the competition but we lost to FC Barcelona. I remember that we played in the tournament together with Louis Mouquet and Younes El Hannach.”
Zaïre Emery has made 12 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and has scored on two occasions for Christophe Galtier’s senior side, Meanwhile, he has also made two Champions League appearances, earning plaudits for consistent performances for the Parisiens and even earning praise from teammates Kylian Mbappé. The France superstar said, “He has personality and that’s what we want here. He’s 16 and we don’t care. He doesn’t play with his number on his back (33 dedicated to young players). He comes and he brings what he can. Of course, he will learn, and he may make mistakes, but we are here to help him because we know he has quality.”
