Football fans and dog lovers delighted in heartwarming scenes in Barcelona as Espanyol players brought dogs with them onto the pitch ahead of their league game against Real Valladolid.
The home side have gone viral with the unique entrance aimed at finding a home for the abandoned canines.
Every member of the Espanyol starting roster was accompanied by a four-legged friend, whether in arms or on a lead.
And the players even included the hounds in their pre-match photo ahead of the clash between two of the three relegated LaLiga sides last term.
The uplifting gesture may have helped put the players in good spirits as they made light work of their visitors to maintain their league-leading form.
With their 2-0 win, Espanyol took their record to 23 points from 11 games which sees them ahead of a trio of sides level just a point behind.
Espanyol will hope their touching move will result in all 11 dogs finding caring owners.
It is the first time a team in Spain's top two tiers have brought dogs onto the field with them but it may not be the last is it proves a success.
