Barça Studios is the entity that centralises the creation, production and commercialisation of FC Barcelona's entire audiovisual range that includes Barça TV, the club's television channel, in its management.
Barça Studios is one of the four branches included in Barça Corporate, which FC Barcelona conceived to achieve immediate income in the face of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The other four divisions are:
The mission of Barça Studios is, on the one hand, to produce audiovisual content and feed the club's channels (such as the Barça TV channel, social networks and the global streaming platform Barça TV+) and, on the other hand, to create new formats that can be commercially viable through other global operators.
On 1 August 2022, Barça made official the sale of 24.5% of Barça Studios to Orpheus Media and another 24.5% to Socios.com. Each company was to pay €100 million, adding to the club's coffers and accelerating the growth of FC Barcelona's audiovisual, blockchain, NFT and Web.3 strategy.
The transaction was carried out by the authorisation of FC Barcelona's General Assembly of members to activate the sale of part of these club assets, the so-called financial levers.
