Real Madrid and Barça have been pitted against one another in the semi-finals of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey, with a final against Osasuna or Athletic awaiting the winner.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been drawn together in the semi-finals of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey, in a two-legged Clásico to decide which of the arch rivals progresses to May’s final.

Semi-final set to be played in early March and April

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is yet to confirm the exact dates and times of the last-four tie, but it has been revealed that the first leg is expected to be played at the Bernabéu on 1 or 2 March, with the return at the Camp Nou on 4, 5 or 6 April.

This will be the teams’ first Copa meeting since they clashed in the semi-finals of the 2018/19 campaign. Barça were 4-1 aggregate winners over Los Blancos, a 3-0 second-leg victory in the Spanish capital sending the Blaugrana into the final, which they lost to Valencia.

Barça, who last lifted the Copa in 2018, are seeking to win Spain’s domestic cup for a record 33rd occasion.

Madrid - whose most recent Copa triumph came when Gareth Bale’s stunning solo goal earned victory over Barça in the 2014 final - are bidding to secure the trophy for the 20th time in their history.

In this year’s other Copa del Rey semi-final, Osasuna have been drawn against Athletic Club.

When and where is the Copa del Rey final?

The final is scheduled to be held at Seville’s Estadio de la Cartuja on 6 May.
