Which legend of the game is proudly captaining his first-ever team in this snap?

There are certain sights in football that nobody is used to. A player dribbling past Virgil van Dijk, David Silva misplacing a pass or N'Golo Kante looking tired.

Another would be Zinedine Zidane with a young face, having emerged into professional football already looking like a grizzled veteran of the game.

But on Tuesday, the Real Madrid boss uploaded a photograph of himself from his early career that looks very different to the player and manager we know today.

Zidane chose a snap of himself playing for US Saint-Henri, a team from Castallene in Marseille, back in 1982.

His years at US Saint-Henri followed his early games from the age of five played on the Place Tartane with the other children from his neighbourhood.

He eventually got his first player's licence when joining US Saint-Henri at the age of 10.

It seems that he was a leader of others from an early age, as the photo Zidane put on his Instagram showed him wearing a captain's armband.

Zidane captioned the image: 'Where it all began'.

He would soon move on from Saint-Henri, joining SO Septemes-les-Vallons at the age of 11 before moving to Cannes when he was 14.

From there, he moved to Bordeaux, then Juventus, then finished his playing career at Real Madrid.
