Barcelona will be without Pedri for their game in the Champions League against Premier League side Chelsea, as the midfielder deals with an injury.

Pedri had played every game of the season until injury struck him against Real Madrid, but his presence for the Chelsea clash was ruled out when he did not take part in Monday’s training session before departing for the UK.
“Frenkie is back, Rashford too,” revealed Hansi Flick. “Raphinha could get more playing time. Pedri might return at the end of the week. Joan Garcia is back as well. We’re training focused and hard. Now we’ll see how we do.”
Hansi Flick’s side travel to London with 7 points from 4 games played, their last match a pulsating 3-3 draw with Club Brugge that highlighted both the tactical ups and downs of their current season.
Why is Cole Palmer not playing for Chelsea against Barcelona?
Of course, it is not just Barcelona who find themselves without a key figure in the lineup. Arguably their most dangerous player, Cole Palmer is also sitting out today’s match, a fractured toe the culprit.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca offered some hope for fans in midweek, revealing that his return to action “will be soon,” adding that “he’s already on the pitch and touching the ball, and the feeling is good.”
The Premier League side come into the game in fine form, winning 4 out of their last 5 games, drawing the other, a 2-2 tie against Qarabag FK in the European competition they return to tonight. Their last loss in the domestic championship was exactly a month ago, to newly-promoted Sunderland, who are flying high in the league.
FC Barcelona take on Chelsea tonight at Stamford Bridge, London. Kick-off is at 15:00 ET.
