Tchouaméni is a last-minute withdrawal from the Real Madrid squad to face Las Palmas at the Bernabéu.
Aurélien Tchouaméni has dropped out of Real Madrid’s matchday squad for today’s LaLiga clash with Las Palmas, with the club explaining that the Frenchman is suffering from “discomfort in his left leg”.
How many games will Tchouaméni miss?
Tchouaméni’s 11th-hour withdrawal is understood to be a precautionary measure by Madrid. Indeed, the 24-year-old could well return for next week’s Champions League game against RB Salzburg.
While initial tests on the midfielder have offered a positive prognosis, the former Monaco player will undergo a more extensive examination tomorrow.
Tchouaméni was set to start in midfield against Las Palmas, having bounced back from criticism of his recent displays as a makeshift defender by performing well in the engine room in Thursday’s Copa del Rey win over Celta Vigo.
He joins compatriot Eduardo Camavinga in the sickbay, after his fellow midfielder was this week ruled out with a hamstring injury.
With Luka Modric suspended, Dani Ceballos appears to be in pole position to come into Madrid’s midfield for today’s matchday-20 LaLiga game, which kicks off at 10:15 a.m. ET.
Who else is injured/suspended for Real Madrid?
In addition to Tchouaméni and Camavinga, Madrid’s injury list also includes long-term casualties Dani Carvajal and Éder Militao (both ACL). Together with Modric, Vinícius Júnior is unavailable to face Las Palmas through suspension.
