Wolves star Pedro Neto will have surgery this week on a knee injury that will rule him out of Portugal's Euro 2020 campaign.
Neto suffered a 'significant injury' to his knee cap in the 1-0 win at Fulham last Friday that means he will not play again until the initial phase of next season at the earliest.
It is a bitter blow for Neto, Wolves' best player this term, and the club, who have had dreadful luck with injuries this term.
'Pedro Neto suffered a significant injury to his patella during the match against Fulham and, following a review with a knee specialist in London at the weekend, surgery has been planned for later this week,' a statement read.
'Unfortunately he is not expected to return to play until next season.'
Forward Raul Jimenez sustained a fractured skull at Arsenal last November and is not expected to play again this season, while key men Willy Boly, Daniel Podence, Leander Dendoncker and Jonny have all had spells out of action.
Jonny will also have an operation in the coming days on damaged knee ligaments – the second time in eight months for the Spaniard.
'Jonny saw a specialist for his knee ligament injury, and his surgery is also planned for later this week,' added the statement.
Meanwhile, midfielder Ruben Neves is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19. Neves played the full 90 minutes at Craven Cottage but is now set to miss out against Sheffield United on Saturday.
