With a move for Paul Pogba almost impossible, Real Madrid are lining up a bid for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to El Confidencial.
Ndombele, 22, has also interested Barcelona in the past, but the Catalan side have since confirmed a deal for Ajax's Frenkie de Jong.
Zidane would prefer a move for Manchester United's Pogba but the Lyon man has emerged as another option. In France he's been compared with Pogba.
Ndombele would cost around 80 million euros, which is less than the 150 million it would cost to land Pogba. He has a contract with Lyon until 2023 and the French club's president, Jean Michel Aulas, has warned he will not leave cheaply.
Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have also shown an interest in Ndombele, while Karim Benzema, a former Lyon player, is a big advocate of his signing.
