Aurelio Andreazzoli believes Empoli have what it takes to avoid relegation this season, even if they are four points adrift of Serie A safety.
Speaking at his Press conference before his team’s Emilia-Romagna derby with fellow relegation candidates Bologna on Saturday, Andreazzoli insisted it was still all to play for.
“It’s an important game, just like the next four. There are 15 points up for grabs. The team are doing well mentally.
“Even against SPAL we had a good game. Physically we are a little tired, but we hope to recover by tomorrow.
“Since September we have found it hard to win away from home, I don’t have an answer.
“We don’t seem to be able to finish our chances, but that won’t force us to play negatively. We will keep playing our football.
“Even in Bergamo where we had difficulties, we still had chances to score and they are a strong team.”
Empoli have scored only three times in their last six away games, managing a paltry 15 goals in their 16 League outings this season....
“The numbers always tell the truth,” added the Coach.
“Bologna have changed gear with Mihajlovic, so there must be a reason why.
“He has been able to motivate them, but they were already a team who had good attributes.
“For us, it will be a hostile environment with a full stadium. We hope we can express ourselves on the pitch.
“Recently I haven’t seen too many weak points in our football, but we must still work hard as every team has something to work on.”
