Barcelona’s priority striker target for summer window revealed

Barcelona’s fall from grace

It is fair to say that FC Barcelona have experienced a rather large fall from grace over the last several years.

The Blaugrana once had one of if not the most revered front-three in all of Europe in the form of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Neymar was then sold to PSG whilst an ageing Suarez was somewhat bizarrely shipped off to Atletico Madrid, who won La Liga in the Uruguayan’s debut campaign at the club.

By far the biggest blow came earlier this summer, though, when Lionel Messi departed the Camp Nou for PSG.

Barca now have an ageing, injury-prone Sergio Aguero, former Middlesbrough striker Martin Braithwaite, Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong – who scored four goals in 34 league ties last term – as their striker options.

Barcelona’s striking targets for summer

So, it is fair to say that Barcelona could probably do with adding some more quality up top in the near future.

And, it appears the Spanish powerhouse are aiming to do just that, with Gerard Romero claiming recently that Erling Haaland is their no.1 forward target in the summer.

If Haaland does not come, Romero adds that Dusan Vlahovic is Barca’s 2nd option:
