Barcelona 'consider move for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma'

Barcelona are looking to make a change in their goalkeeper position as they are reportedly set to make a move for AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been the Catalan club's number one goalkeeper over the past five seasons.

The 29-year-old German has previously been labelled as an 'untouchable' member of their squad with the club happy with their current shot-stopper.

However, AS have now reported that Barcelona are considering a move for Donnarumma who is set to become a free agent this summer.

The 22-year-old Italian though will only make the move though if AC Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Donnarumma is said to be prepared to commit his future to his current club if they achieve a top-four finish.

AC Milan's fate is currently in their own hands as they go into the final day in third place.

However, with fifth-placed Juventus sitting one point behind, Pioli's men need a win in a tricky away clash against Atalanta to guarantee qualification.

Despite Barcelona being content with Ter Stegen, due to enormous debts club president Joan Laporta could look to cash in on the German and land Donnarumma on a free.

Laporta will therefore be keeping a keen eye on proceedings at the match in Bergamo on Sunday evening.

Donnarumma first broke into the team in the 2015-16 season as a promising 16-year-old goalkeeper.

Since then he has gone on to make 250 appearances for the club, despite speculation that he could leave the club in previous seasons.

Ter Stegen, meanwhile, has just undergone knee surgery with the German set to miss out on Euro 2020.
