Boban: Milan are '3-4 years away' from returning to 'greatness'

Former Milan midfielder Zvonimir Boban believes the Rossoneri are ‘3-4 years away’ from returning to ‘greatness’.

Milan seem to have found stability on and off the field for the first time in years, and Boban hopes that will be the catalyst to his old club competing for honours again.

“I hope they can start a new cycle and that within 3-4 years, we’ll see Milan again in all their greatness, but we need a lot of work. I wish them well,” the midfielder-turned-FIFA secretary told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Leonardo and Maldini have started working very well, they’ve put everything into their roles and they know football. Good results will come, it takes time.”

The Croatian, who won four Scudetti and a Champions League with the Diavolo, was then asked about Silvio Berlusconi’s recent purchase of Serie C club Monza.

“It was a fun and romantic deal,” he added.

“They couldn’t stay away from this sport.”
