Bournemouth have agreed a deal with Fiorentina for midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli worth £12m.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder is expected in the UK today to complete his medical and finalise personal terms.
Castrovilli made his debut for Fiorentina during the 2019-20 season and has gone on to score 13 goals in 125 appearances for the club.
However, he had a disrupted season during the most recent campaign, missing the first-half of the season before the World Cup following a knee surgery.
The midfielder was also part of the Italy squad that clinched the European Championships, as he was an unused substitute in their penalty shoot-out victory over England.
Should the move cross the line, Castrovilli will become the Cherries' sixth signing of the summer.
Bournemouth have already spent over £50m on Hamed Traore, Milos Kerkez, Romain Faivre and Justin Kluivert.
They also brought in goalkeeper Ionut Radu on loan from Inter Milan.
Andoni Iraola's first competitive game as manager of the club is rapidly approaching.
The Cherries host West Ham in their first game of the Premier League season on August 12, and he will be hoping to build on the Cherries' 15th place finish last campaign.
