Brozovic dresses up as a crocodile for Halloween

Marcelo Brozovic may be gaining a reputation as a fine midfielder at Inter Milan, but his profile as a football and social media maverick appears to growing far quicker.

The Croatian midfielder has become an Internet sensation for his unorthodox sliding block, which sees him dive underneath a defensive wall to block low shots.

This move, which was used in a recent match against Barcelona, has been dubbed 'The Crocodile', so it came as no surprise to see Brozovic's choice of Halloween outfit.

Striking his trademark pose to show off his smiley-face tattoo, Brozovic got snappy in more ways than one as he posted pictures of his crocodile onesie to a rapidly-growing social media following.

Brozovic's ingenious technique came in handy against Barcelona in their Champions League clash last month as he blocked Luis Suarez's free-kick shot, which looked destined for the back of the net.

It left Lionel Messi, who was watching from the stands with a fractured arm, looking bemused and sent social media into a spin. However, it did little to affect the result as Barcelona still won the game 2-0.

Of course, Brozovic's outlandish style would only go down well if he complimented it with good performances. That is exactly what he has been doing this year with Inter Milan currently sitting second in Serie A.

So good has he been, that the local Milan media are starting to wonder whether the midfielder's €60million (£54.5m) release clause is enough. Indeed, that will be a small price for Europe's top clubs to pay if he continues in a similar vein for much longer.

Tuttosport reported last month that he had reached an agreement with Inter Milan over an extension, but there has been no official developments since. He has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in the recent past, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.
