Bruno Fernandes was named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for 2025. This season, he once again delivered top individual performances for Manchester United and was overwhelmingly voted the team's best player by fans. He has now won five Manchester United Player of the Year awards, surpassing De Gea and Ronaldo to become the first player to do so.

The Manchester United number 8 scored 8 goals this season, but his assist statistics are even more impressive. The Portuguese international has provided 20 assists in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League, just one step away from equaling the Premier League's single-season assist record.

Henry and De Bruyne each provided 20 assists in a single season in 2002/03 and 2019/20 respectively. With two league rounds remaining, Bruno has a chance to equal or even break this record.

In the 15 matches under Carrick, Bruno helped Manchester United secure 10 victories, with the team securing qualification for next season's Champions League ahead of schedule.

He had previously been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. Now, after receiving the team's major award, with five team Player of the Year trophies, he has surpassed the four-award record held by De Gea and Ronaldo.

Fernandes first won this team award, named after the legendary Manchester United manager, in the 2020 season, when he made a stunning impact under Solskjaer early in his Manchester United career.

He was re-elected a year later, contributing 28 goals in 58 appearances that season, which remains his career goal record for Manchester United.

Subsequently, Ronaldo and Rashford received the award. In 2024, Manchester United won the FA Cup at Wembley, and Fernandes once again became the fans' top choice.

With another award added, he becomes the second Manchester United player after De Gea to win the award three times in a row, firmly establishing his status as a Manchester United legend.
