Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly attracting interest from Serie A side Monza, although they could face competition from Premier League teams Newcastle and Nottingham Forest for his signature.
The Frenchman, who is currently halfway through a two-year loan spell with AC Milan, has fallen out of favour at the San Siro and manager Stefano Pioli is now keen to part ways and get his wages off their books.
Newly-promoted Monza are leading the race to sign Bakayoko after his agent and Milan directors Maldini and Massara discussed their options in a recent meeting, according to Sky Italy.
There are two options to make the move happen, with one being that Monza sign Bakayoko on loan from Chelsea if Milan are able to cancel their current deal.
The second option will be to sign him on a free transfer if he terminates his contract with the Blues.
The Serie A side face competition to sign the midfielder with Calciomercato suggesting that Nottingham Forest and Newcastle are interested in giving him a second crack in the Premier League.
Bakayoko's Chelsea contract expires at the end of the current season and it appears he has no future at Stamford Bridge, so termination of his contract could be the best solution for both parties.
Ross Barkley, another Blues outcast, has left the club on a free transfer after agreeing to terminate his contract, and Bakayoko could depart in similar fashion.
The former AS Monaco star has played 60 times for Milan, scoring one goal and assisting two more.
