Chiellini, however, says management are excited about the team's potential under coach Luciano Spalletti.

He told Tuttosport: "Juventus' history is made up of great winning cycles and counter-cycles. Unfortunately, we're currently in a counter-cycle where we haven't won for a while.
"We hope to return to that state as soon as possible... The ambition must be to reach the top, but there must be balance in our judgments and expectations."
Chiellini also said: "The Juventus of ten, twenty, thirty years ago no longer exists. The world has changed, and with it, football. We can't make comparisons with the past: we must recognize those values and build on them."
On Spalletti, he added: "Luciano's career speaks for itself. I haven't been coached by him, but I know him well: he takes care of every detail, he's re-evaluating many players. He's a man on a mission, he lives for Juve."
