Christian Pulisic has informed Chelsea that he will not be joining Lyon - irrespective of their offer.

The USA international has set his mind on joining AC Milan who made a written offer on Sunday of £12million plus bonuses for the 24-year-old.

The offer is understood to be comparable with that of Lyon's who proposed around £21million including bonuses and a sell-on.

Milan are waiting on Chelsea's reply before discussing their next move but know Pulisic wants to join them.

Lyon have still to prove they have a financial budget that meets the approval of France's football finance watchdog DNCG, though their presentation is due tomorrow. However, Pulisic has made up his mind he will not move to France.

Pulisic, who cost Chelsea £58m from Borussia Dortmund, is one of 11 players who could leave in the coming days.

Mason Mount was at Manchester United on Monday ahead of his £55m move then Chelsea will work on the departures of Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta, Romelu Lukaku, Ethan Ampadu, Trevoh Chalobah, Baba Rahman, Malang Sarr, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech.

Throw in the fact that Levi Colwill and Conor Gallagher will want to know how they fit in to Pochettino's plans, it's clear to see the Argentine has a lot to assess.

He arrived at Cobham on Monday morning to start work in his new role after putting pen to paper on a deal over a month ago.
