Crespo: Serie A is very interesting, I hope Scudetto battle resumes

Hernan Crespo hopes to see the championship resume to let his former clubs Lazio and Inter finish an 'interesting' battle with Juventus at the top.

After 26 rounds of fixtures, Juventus sit one point above the Biancocelesti in Serie A, with Inter at third, eight points behind Lazio but with one game in hand.

Crespo, current coach of Defensa y Justicia in Argentina, has claimed the Bianconeri lack a collective game but expects them to improve further in Maurizio Sarri’s second year at the helm.

“The championship was very interesting, I hope it can resume,” he told Tuttosport. “Sarri was trying to change his own philosophy after so many years.

“Today, he has magnificent individualis, but not a collective game. In my opinion, he will do better next year, because the club will make decisions in line with Sarri’s style of football.”

The former Inter and Milan player, who spent two years at the Olimpico with Lazio, spoke about his former employers.

“A big applause for Lazio, I put them in the same category of Atalanta. With less resources, they manage to express a great game and you can also see a project developing.

“Then you have [Antonio] Conte’s Inter, who are pragmatic, he knows what he wants. They have a very precise identity and has returned as protagonists.

“My dear Milan, on the other hand, instead they’re sailing on turbulent water at a corporate level. It’s very difficult to manage.”
