D'Ambrosio: 'Inter subs change the game'

Danilo D’Ambrosio saw Inter ‘wanted to win at all costs’ in the 4-3 thriller with Fiorentina, but above all ‘we have the quality to come off the bench and change the game.’

It was a topsy-turvy Serie A opener for the Nerazzurri, who were 3-2 down until the 86th minute and won 4-3 with his header.

“Winning is always important, naturally we do everything to win without suffering too much, but this game started badly,” D’Ambrosio told DAZN.

“We did well to turn it around, proved that we want to fight for every point and have the quality to come off the bench and change the game.

“We got the victory because we wanted to win at all costs.”

The fact Achraf Hakimi, Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and Radja Nainggolan all came off the bench shows how much Inter have strengthened.

“Every time we step on to the pitch, we have to give 100 per cent and I am happy to sacrifice myself for the team. My main job is trying to prevent goals, but if I can get a few at the other end, that’s a bonus.

“Last season we reached the Europa League Final and were one point off Juventus, so our plan is to improve this year and do even better.”
