Daniele De Rossi wants Roma to “play the way we did tonight” against CSKA Moscow in all their Serie A and Champions League games.
The Giallorossi made short work of CSKA Moscow, a 3-0 result providing their seventh straight Champions League home win.
“Our journey so far hasn’t been up to scratch considering the quality at our disposal,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.
“We’ve got to play the way we did tonight, keeping everyone involved. These dips in concentration and performance are worrying, but in a way we’re repeating last season by being very positive in the Champions League and less so in Serie A.
“Despite the fact we reached the Champions League semi-final last season, we should care more about Serie A. If something strange were to happen to Juventus, we’d have to be ready to pounce. It’s a pity we are already so far away from the top.”
Roma were missing Justin Kluivert, Diego Perotti, Javier Pastore and Rick Karsdorp, while Aleksandar Kolarov was only fit for the bench.
De Rossi also played through the pain barrier, as he has a micro-fracture in his foot.
“You don’t feel the pain much with the pain-killers, but you should see me tomorrow morning when I get out of bed!”
