Stefan de Vrij has shared his delight and reflected upon Inter's 4-2 Milan derby win last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport.

The Dutch central defender was one of, if not, the best performing Inter player in the match at San Siro with him making an impact at both ends of the pitch.

Although Inter conceded twice, de Vrij made several blocks and tackles and ultimately kept AC Milan from scoring anymore.

The former Lazio man also scored Inter's go-ahead goal on the 70th minute with a well placed header that went over AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“I am happy with the goal, the win and with the character we showed in the second half. In the first half things went wrong, AC Milan were good and deservedly took the lead, then in the second half it was a different game,” he said.

“What did Conte tell us at the end of the first half? He made us understand what we had to change. Ibra said that Inter cannot win the league? Everyone has their own opinion.”

The 28-year-old has been virtually ever present for Inter this season having appeared in all barring four of the team's 31 competitive matches to date. In 2364 minutes on the field de Vrij, who joined on a free transfer in 2018, has scored two goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
