Yussuf Poulsen sent the home fans wild with delight in the second minute as Denmark started excellently. There was a pause for a tribute to Christian Eriksen in the 10th minute, but that didn't halt the Danes' momentum as they kept pushing for a second.

They led 1-0 at the break, at which point Roberto Martinez introduced Kevin de Bruyne. That saw Belgium's attack click into gear.

First, Romelu Lukaku burst free down the right and fed the ball to De Bruyne, who did ever so well to spot Thorgan Hazard and set the Borussia Dortmund man up for an equaliser.

Then, De Bruyne did it himself for Belgium's second goal. Following some neat build-up play, he fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Suddenly, Belgium led. But, Denmark weren't giving up. Martin Braithwaite had had chance after chance throughout the game and he kept fighting, but it wasn't his day. He and Thibaut Courtois could only watch as his late header looked to be going in, only to bounce off the crossbar and away.

Belgium survive a scare, then, to take six points from their first two matches. Denmark remain without a point in Euro 2020, but they can be proud of this performance on what was also a night of celebration for Eriksen.
