Emir of Qatar to attend PSG vs Bayern Munich UCL clash

According to L’Équipe, the owner of Paris Saint-Germain, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is set to attend the team’s UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, following a diplomatic visit to Rome. The Qatari emir’s presence comes in the context of PSG supporters’ concerns about Qatar’s reported bid to acquire Manchester United.

Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, which holds stakes in QSI, the owner of PSG, is expected to submit a bid to purchase the English club later this week. QIA is reportedly receiving support from private wealth management funds in Qatar for the proposed acquisition. Despite concerns from PSG fans, UEFA has already given the green light for a potential Qatari investment in Manchester United, without any perceived negative impact on the Parisian club.

Meanwhile as we reported in January, and according to sources contacted by Get French Football News, PSG’s owners QSI are reportedly not focused on acquiring an English club despite reports linking the PSG owners with a move for Tottenham Hotspur, and then in turn Manchester United.
