Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti paid tribute to his players and fans after their Serie A safety was secured.
Last night's 1-1 draw with Sampdoria sees Empoli safe for another season.
Zanetti said: "A draw is the right result. For us it is a special day, it is a crowning of a dream that we wanted to achieve with a lot of work and sacrifice by overcoming obstacles together. In this finale we had to make a breakthrough and we found the key to finding seven points in the last three games. It's an important result and I hope these guys will be celebrated as it should be.
"In the meantime, we have three matches where we want to score as many points as possible. As for the future, several things will change because we have so many talents.
"Now we have to think about celebrating and finishing this championship well because we want to continue to amaze.
"I dedicate this to my players because I think they are the ones who go onto the pitch and they are the ones who bring my ideas and our mentality onto the pitch. I want to thank them because they are the protagonists. In addition to the club, the president who believed in me.
"I'll add one thing. I'm not saying this out of lip service or anything else. Tonight there's one component that won and that's the crowd. It was impressive to see a fan base cheering for their already relegated team for 95 minutes.
